Madame Midori is the best karaoke entertainer in Tokyo, and each night her voice is heard at the famous club the Gold Duck. Backstage she greets fans and signs autographs, but when they are gone she summons her band of ninja thieves, because Madame Midori has another hobby: collecting priceless treasures. One evening, her ninjas make a quiet sweep of every museum across Tokyo, absconding with the country’s greatest artifacts, including a fifteenth-century samurai sword. Clueless and hopeless, the Tokyo police call on Secret Agent Jack Stalwart to retrieve the sword. Jack is unsure where to begin until he discovers an important clue that leads him to the Golden Duck. After watching a performance, Jack presents Madame Midori with a series of questions. Charmed by his curiosity, Madame Midori invites Jack to her home, where she prepares a Japanese delicacy: fugu. When Jack takes a bite, he realizes it may be his last. Fugu is the poisonous puffer fish, and if he can’t find an antidote, both he and the treasures will be gone forever.
